Faisal Ishtiaq is an Executive Director of Machine Learning at Comcast. He leads a multidisciplinary R&D team focused on developing large scale AI Platforms for Media Analysis and Product Analytics. His teams develop novel media experiences and technologies widely used across Xfinity, Sky, NBCU, and Peacock and externally as VideoAI. His research interests include Generative AI, scene understanding, topic and sentiment analysis, emotion detection, AI platform architectures. Faisal holds over 50 patents and has published multiple scientific conference and journal papers. In 2023 Faisal and his team won a Technical Emmy Award for Automated AI/ML Curation of Sports Highlights. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Northwestern University.
