Economist at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona at International Director at Netquest
Joaquim Bretcha is an Economist at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and holds a degree in Business from the IESE. He has developed distinct roles all along the Value Chain in the MR Industry: End Client, Agency and Service Provider. As end client he has held the positions of Marketing Director at Auchan Supermarkets, Merchandising Director in Carrefour Supermarkets and Marketing Responsible in AECOC, the FMCG Spanish Institution of a similar nature to Esomar. In the MR Agency side, he has served for six years as Retail Director in TNS Worldpanel and Synovate. A current ESOMAR Council member for the last 7 years he has also created and expanded the International Business Unit at Netquest. Both responsibilities give him the ability to stay permanently in touch with the international community of market research and stay tuned to the latest market developments
Joaquim has been very active in Retail Conferences before joining Netquest. In the ESOMAR world, Joaquim has been the substitute president of Esomar at the Latam Conferences in Brazil and Colombia. Furthermore, he submitted and presented the paper “Getting the full picture. Understanding mom’s online behavior”; at the ESOMAR APA Conference 2015 in Singapore and broadcasted its webinar in December 2015. Most recently, he has presented the paper “Is shopping Cultured?” at the ESOMAR Latam Conference 2017 in Mexico.
