John Fernandes is the Director of Marketing Insights & Analytics at Facebook, where he leads a team responsible for gathering insights, establishing target audiences, and measuring the effectiveness of marketing initiatives. Prior to Facebook, Fernandes was the President of think brand new, an insights-based consulting firm that advised enterprises and startups on product strategy and positioning, marketing, brand, and culture. He also led Global Consumer Marketing & Research at eBay, where he developed and executed integrated marketing plans for a $5 billion portfolio of category businesses. He has also held marketing roles at Sapient and Levi Strauss & Co.
Fernandes earned his undergraduate and MBA degrees from Stanford University. He has remained active with his alma mater and currently serves on the Alumni Committee on Trustee Nominations. Fernandes is a former trustee for The Hamlin School. He is an avid runner who lives in San Francisco with his family.
